Free Games with Strangers, Built into the Call

Quick answer: Games are the fastest way to turn a stalled stranger chat into a real interaction: a shared activity gives both people something to do and talk about. On Closer you can play Ludo, XO 5x5 tic tac toe, Hangman or Ocho with the person you just matched, in the browser, with no download and no account.

Updated: September 2026

Closer is a stranger chat platform with games built in: the board opens over your call, so nobody has to stop talking, and nothing has to be installed. These are the four games you can play right now.

Games You Can Play

Ludo (2 players, or 4 in a voice room)

The classic colour board: six to release a token, captures send rivals home, blocks close a lane, and an exact roll is needed to finish. One on one it runs inside any call; in a voice room four people can take a seat at the same board. Read the full guide on playing Ludo with strangers.

XO 5x5 tic tac toe (2 players)

A bigger, more strategic tic tac toe: a 5x5 grid and four in a row to win. Simple enough to learn in seconds, deep enough that the rematch matters. See tic tac toe with strangers.

Hangman (2 players, teams, or competitive)

Three ways to play: Choose Turns, where each side sets a word for the other, Team Guess, where a room guesses together, and Competitive, a straight race to the answer.

Ocho (2 players)

A fast UNO style card game: match the colour or the number, stack your action cards, and empty your hand before the other side does.
