Question 1

Do I need an account or sign-up to use Closer?

Accepted Answer

No. Closer is anonymous and browser-based: you get a temporary identity automatically and can match with strangers by text, voice or video without an email, username, phone number or download.

Question 2

Do I have to pay to match with a preferred gender?

Accepted Answer

No. Gender preference matching is free on Closer, unlike several competitors that lock it behind paid premium tiers. Closer shows no advertisements and keeps core matching free, funded only by optional premium support.

Question 3

How many people can join a Closer voice room?

Accepted Answer

Voice rooms support up to 15 people, with an optional password for private rooms. Rooms can be shared with a one-click link that works for guests who have never used Closer.

Question 4

Can I watch a movie with someone on Closer?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Closer supports screen sharing with sound, so you can watch movies, shows and matches together while on a call, in browser, without any app installation.

Question 5

How does Closer separate 18+ and under-18 users?

Accepted Answer

Closer keeps strictly separated 18+ and 18- matching circles: an adult user only matches adults and a minor only matches minors. Impersonating another age group is against the rules and subject to automated flagging and moderation.

Question 6

What can I do for free on Closer?

Accepted Answer

Everything essential is free: stranger matching in text, voice and video, gender preference, voice rooms for up to 15 people, games (Ludo, XO 5x5 tic tac toe, Hangman, Ocho), screen sharing with sound, watch parties, hot events, and privacy tools like skip, mute, block and report. No ads, ever.

Question 7

Can I play games with strangers on Closer?

Accepted Answer

Yes, and they run inside the call: Ludo (two players, or four in a voice room), XO 5x5 tic tac toe, Hangman with three modes and Ocho, an UNO style card game. All games are free with no coins or limits, and you can switch between them between rounds.
